Through competitive analysis and VOC surveys, we learned that our user base was actively looking for a mobile platform to be able to do business, easier and on demand.
I had recently led an effort to deploy a “pilot app” to get a view of marketplace receptivity. With strong usage of our first app and clear feedback for the need of an ecommerce app, I led the go to market strategy to deploy the first mobile ecommerce shopping app for the business.
This app, named “Panduit Select” provided mobile access to the full breadth and depth of Panduit’s catalog of over 200,ooo best in class electrical and networking products, enabling our users to maximize efficiency by acting on job requirements in real time as they develop.
The app was deployed with the user in mind and included the following features
- Search and browse the online catalog
- Build, save, and send Bills of Materials, including Notes field
- Select, save, and send Favorites lists
- Find distributor branches close to you
- Share product documentation with project stakeholders
- Barcode scan and competitor part cross-check
- Feedback area to request features
All activities saved on the app was synced real-time synced with the users Panduit.com account, allowing the user to access and manage key project data both at the office and in the field, on the device of their choice – desktop, tablet, and smartphone.
I led this project from strategy and financial plan through development and deployment for both iTunes and Google Play storefronts. The project led to a extremely positive marketplace reaction with our customers as well as backing from executive leadership to build and deploy future apps for the business.
